Buried In Paper

I walked into a client’s home and on his table was a foot high stack of reports.  I asked him, “What are you studying?” He said, “It’s all of the companies that want to me to buy Medicare supplements.”  Get ready, because the closer you get to age 65 the more you will be bombarded by Medicare literature. What plan should I pick?  You can chose a Medicare supplement, Medicare Advantage product or do nothing at all.  (Warning: There are sizable penalties if you do not get your Medicare coverage within a specific time table)  You need to make sure that you have a prescription plan and you might be able to pick up some dental or vision coverage.  But there are dozens of choices.  In this series of post I am going to teach you the basics of the Medicare program.  All of the different parts and the specific terms that apply to the variety of plans.  As my practice has grown, I have added professionals who specialize in specific areas of estate planning.  I have a great partner that can help with your specific needs to find exactly the right medical plan for you.  What these post will do is help to educate you in a way that you know what questions to ask when that time arrives.  So push the stack of paper aside and let’s learn the world of Medicare.
