Rich Nulph
President/Founder
Born and raised in Butler, PA, Rich overcame the challenges of growing up in a low income broken home. With the help of grants and student loans Rich worked his way through college and graduated from Indiana University of PA (IUP) with a finance degree in 1983. Our country was just coming out of a deep recession and jobs were difficult to find. The first job after college was with Household Finance earning under $8,000 per year. Returning to Butler, Rich became a credit analyst for Marmon Keystone, but soon moved into sales.
A break came when Rich was given the opportunity to create a national telemarketing sales department. Within a few years, Rich’s team of 7 full time sales people served small businesses across the United States and Canada. Change has always been a part of Rich’s life and in 1995 a call to ministry sent the family in a whole new direction. Entering Pittsburgh Theological Seminary he began the four year process to become a United Methodist minister.
The first appointment was a student position at Unionville United Methodist Church in Beaver County. A full time student and a full time pastor with a wife and two small sons seems to be a heavy enough burden until another life turning point unfolds. The senior pastor who had started a major building program was reappointed and left before the project was finished. Rich added to his workload the need to refinance the church’s debt and organize the contractors to finish the building program.
The United Methodist denomination moved Rich and his family to Natrona Heights, but it was not long before Rich and Linda were led to form an independent church, Church for a Harvest. With a group of only 12 people (including the Nulphs) the little church began to grow. With so few people the church could not provide a salary for the Nulph family. Rich had a dilemma; find work with a company that would have rigid requirements or take the risk of starting an independent business that could have the flexibility to serve a church. Stepping out in faith, Rich began a new business that originally was known as the Nulph Group.

Kaitlin Sweeny
Financial Advisor / Client Service Representative
Hi, I’m Kaitlin! I’m an advisor and customer service representative at Safety First Retirement. I primarily work in the financial side of the retirement spectrum and help clients to find life insurance options that suit their family’s needs. I also sell fixed and fixed indexed annuity products.
I joined the SFR team almost immediately after graduating college in 2015. I started as a part-time administrative assistant and over the years have grown alongside the company to help prospective clients find peace of mind in a time of their lives that can be unsettling. The best part of my job is the people I’ve met and helped over the years; I’m thankful to be a small part of so many lives.
